Founded - 1985 I became a small business owner because I saw this path as an opportunity that, if I worked hard and used my knowledge, I could provide a service; improve my life and that of my family. My career in the construction business began at age 8 when my father recognized my interest and aptitude in a business, which has been started by my grandfather in 1927, and was passed to my father in the early 1950’s.

As I grew older, I learned to operate bulldozer, backhoe, and black top roller and even plow snow. In 1974, the family owned construction business was passed on to my brother. I continued my “on the job” education operating equipment. Following my graduation from high school in 1977, I assumed the role of bookkeeper, office manager, ordering materials, and scheduling jobs for all employees of the company. In 1981, I married Michael DeVenuto, who came from a line of stonemasons. He brought this expertise to my business. He later became site manager/foreman on company jobs. By 1985, I had thoughtfully assessed my situation and concluded that I wanted to go into business for myself.
